Natural Latex Mattresses
Organic natural latex mattresses bring a whole new level of comfort – especially when compared to familiar innerspring mattresses.
A Step up from Innerspring Mattresses
Latex mattresses are made solely of latex rubber foam, no metal pieces or moveable parts like innerspring mattresses. (The intrinsic firmness of organic latex gives it a comfortable support without a stiff infrastructure.) Organic natural latex mattresses bring a number of advantages:
- It is naturally inflammable – without any additional chemical treatments.
- Latex rubber is naturally resistant to dust mites and pests.
- Natural latex is exceptionally durable, which leads to a longer mattress life.
- No rigid frame means that latex mattresses don’t move like innersprings, so people remain still and comfortable while sleeping (no matter what else moves the bed).
- The lack of stiff metal coils eliminates pressure points along the spine, hips, neck, and shoulders.
- Some beds don’t even require a box spring. The inherent support of the latex mattress mean that many people can simply put the mattress on a platform or slat bed without a box spring, which saves money when switching to a latex mattress.

Natural latex mattresses create a much more comfortable, natural, stress-free sleeping experience – and consumers notice In fact, consumers select latex mattresses over innerspring mattresses at a ratio of almost 3 to 1 – almost 75%.
Organic manufacturers are also responding to the more natural, organic process of using natural latex materials and are increasingly abandoning innerspring mattress production to make natural latex mattresses exclusively.
The Difference Is in Natural Latex
Not all latex is the same.
Latex itself is the sap from a rubber tree, and that was its original meaning. Rubber rationing in World War II led to a lot of manufacturing companies introducing synthetic latex or synthetic-natural blends, which imitated the texture and feel of natural latex, but lacked its durability and natural resistance to pests like mites and flammability (requiring additional chemical treatments). Even after rubber rationing ended, manufacturers still produced synthetic rubber because of the low cost – and they still called it latex.
Lifekind natural latex mattresses are made from pure Talalay natural latex – no petrochemicals or treatments. We even have it independently tested and certified by Oeko-Tex to guarantee that it contains no harmful chemicals.
This means that our mattresses have all of the benefits of natural latex mattresses – the comfort, the safety, the purity – with the added benefits of durability and value.
